People, don't forget to pledge your support to community radio and subscribe to 3RRR during their 2011 Radiothon which is on now.
This week, Dazza catches the 96 tram up to 3RRR to share a bucket of chips and a pie with Jacinta Parsons, former Megahertz Community Cup Captain and 3RRR presenter ('Detour' Wednesday mornings at 9am).......
1. What is the most memorable thing to happen to you while wearing footy shorts?
Eating meat pies.
2. If you were lining up for a goal on the siren, what song would you want played and why?
‘Hero’ by Mariah Carey. Perfect balance of high emotion and drama. This track would also work for the slow-mo replay.
3. As a past captain of the Megahertz, what's something you think the AFL could take from the Community Cup?
I think the AFL would do well to go back to headbands – as per Bruce Doulle – the Community Cup celebrates the ethos of the headband.
4. In the 2010 Community Cup, I saw you receive a shocking hip and shoulder from Pete 'Lucky' Luscombe. Do you ever dream of payback - seeing him in the street and just going 'whack!'?
He is quite the ‘unit’ – I took the hip and shoulder as a mark of respect. I think he thinks I’m pretty tough.
5. What is your favourite pub for a post game beer?
The union Hotel in Brunswick. I like steak (and pies).
6. As a devoted Cats fan, who shits you the most - Hawks 1989 side, Hawks 2008 side or Bomber Thompson?
Without any hesitation I can safely say Bomber is dead to me.
7. Do you think the Cats can win the flag in 2011?
Yes. That will be my ultimate hip and shoulder to Pete Luscombe.
8. If you had to have one player kick a goal from 5 metres out to save your life, who would you choose - Richo, Kent Kingsley or Cam Mooney?
Ow, this is hard. Why do you bring up so much pain? I guess Cambo is still with us, so I need to stick to him.
9. Preferred cuisine at the footy - pie with sauce and a beer, pre-packed sandwiches with a thermas or fine dining in the members?
I think I’ve made my affiliation with the pie obvious.
10. As a broadcaster at 3RRR, how do you think the AFL are travelling with their Grand Final music selections of late (Meatloaf, Lionel Ritchie, Jersey Boys, etc)?
I understand Lionel (Ballerina Girl was a classic) and maybe even Meatloaf but perhaps Jersey Boys has gone too far.
